What a license means

What being licensed in Massachusetts involves

  • Licensed & inspected

We hold an active family child care license from the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) — the state agency that licenses, regulates, and inspects early-education programs in Massachusetts.

  • Background-checked

Massachusetts requires an EEC Background Record Check (BRC) for the provider and household members before a family child care license is issued.

  • Health & safety standards

EEC licensing sets standards for supervision, safe sleep, emergency preparedness, nutrition, and the physical space children use.

  • Small groups, home setting

As a licensed family child care, we care for a small group of children (1 month – 5 years) in a home environment — the same license and standards across our daytime and evening programs.
